The Pact UK digital showcase events - GLASGOW
The 'Behind The Screens' showcasing event tours cities across the UK with top digital productions in 2010.
The tour, supported by Adobe, will highlight some of the best new digital, innovative and technological projects from the UK digital media industry.
Each event will offer a ‘behind the screens’ looks at the latest works from award-winning producers and will offer TV, film and digital media attendees great networking opportunities and a forum for new ideas, collaborations and future partnerships.
The Digital Showcasing series is visiting London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Bristol and Belfast and all events run from 3.30 pm until 6pm.
In Glasgow there will be presentations from:
- Tern Digital, Beauty of Maps - Interactive companion site to BBC4 documentary series, which uses deep-zoom technology allowing users to explore a selection of historical maps and discover their secrets
- llumina Digital, Sun Quiz Live - An innovative video game participation platform which broadcasts live via the internet and includes a series of multi-player games of skill which users play in real time
- Axis Animation, The Journey - A powerful, hard hitting short film produced collaboratively using the latest digital film making and visual effects techniques by Quietstorm Films, Richard Jobson and Azis
- Cube Interactive, Cyw - The BAFTA and Celtic Media Festival award-winning digital service for pre-school children.
All events are free to attend, but places are limited so hurry!
This event is being run in partnership with Interactive Scotland.
Pact digital members include many of the UK’s leading multi-media companies who are some of the key suppliers to the BBC, Channel 4 and the public sector, as well as creating content in partnership with companies such as MSN, Bebo and 02. At the digital world’s equivalent to the Oscars, the International Digital Emmy Awards, Pact members won 2 out of 3 awards last year, for Britain from Above and Battlefront.
